That's When I'Ll Say

That’s when I’ll say we’re equal now
After every complaint that I still hear without a fuss
And you stain me with a stick-mark to remember my fault
And every ice that I’ve tried to break between us
But the fire within you that simply burns me down
Like the half-hearted me who never tried to take flight
And the stone-souled you that searched for darkness even in light
When you return everything that was stolen from me
That’s when I’ll say we’re equal now
Like your eyes that counted my flaws without having to say
And your stars that were reluctant to part from my way
When you feel the terror that every new day with you brings to my heart
That’s when I’ll say we’re equal now

This is good poetry Ritika, the repetitive lines here strengthen your poem, not weaken it. I love the "half-hearted me" and the "stone-souled you". Welcome to PoetrySoup.
