Cold Fire
The first monsoon has drenched
My backyard wall
A droplet trickles through;
As it trickles through,
My insides burn for you
Your cackle resounds-
Pitter Patter all day long
The roof, the tin shed, the car;
It resounds, yearns and beckons all along
On a wet summer noon
It too cries with me for you
You leap across the wet green leaves
Gurgle down the drains
Making frigid the scorching earth
Mourning in heavy strains
Ring my heart, they do
Whether you're near, or far
My insides burn for you
