They Don'T See the Real Me

Others see me for my cover
Not caring how I am on the inside
To them, I look like this perfect girl
That can do no wrong

But what they don't realize
that when I'm at home
Beyond the school walls
My life is not perfect

I may say I'm fine
But what I really mean is
I need help
Can anyone help me, Please!

But no one can hear my cries
I'm alone in the darkness
I have thoughts,
terrible to even think of

No one can see
Under my perfect skin
That I am pleading
For anyone to help me ...

“Your so pretty,” they all said
“Why did she do it?”
“She had so much to live for!”
But they were too late....

They were too late to hear the cries
Too late to let her know that
She could have been happy...
That she was not alone

Such a sad write. A miserable world where we don't notice when someone needs help and they feel that problems can't be shared. : (

That is a well written, but so terribly sad poem. I hope we all have someone in our lives we can turn to when life is too hard. Welcome to PoetrySoup.
