Horned Owl

I glide through the night on silent wings
Watching, waiting, for moving things
To swoop and grab and eat my fill
Before the sun rises over the hill
Nesting in branches high in the air
I watch as you approach and stare
“who?” says you, “who” says me
As I take off almost silently
To find a bit more private trap
Where I can get my morning nap
The great horned owl is my name
But you all ask me just the same
...............“who”

Joseph, great personification and descriptive poem . I so often see one whooing around perched on roof tops he or she is far from being small, so I quickly gather my dog and go back inside. Congratulations on your win. Hugs Eve
