The Promise of Spring
As I walk this future path,
My hand trails,
The rag stone of past,
The wind b!ows,
Wintery hard.
But peoples faces smile,
Remembering the summer last,
So far behind,
But recalled in a blink,
It gives me pause,
To stop and think,
Of o!d contacts,
That now I have no link.
The new dawn,
Looks cold, but bright,
The fresh, new day,
Starts the passionate fight,
Against the devil's of old,
Phantoms of yesterday.
Then I gaze on the snowdrops,
And I pray,
As there is so much more,
In Gods design,
I never forget,
The future is mine.
