Hush

Hush!
As my ma told me to do.
I hated that phrase since the day she tried to sell my shoes.
What a crazy idea to do I thought,
what a crazy idea indeed.
though we didn't have any money at the time,
I was to young, and careless to see.
My shoes were dinner that night,
and the next night, I believe we didn't eat.
Boy how I wish I can go back to that kitchen and apologize for being mean.
Because when your life seems to fly by,
and your skin a non-stop aging.
Your gonna really miss your mom,
your gonna really miss that spanking.
