Regret

Day after day my life leaves me shattered 
I’m beginning to forget that things once mattered

Crawled in a ball, there’s leaks down my face
I fear one might enter my snug hiding place

I’m burning out, I’m losing my glow
Curious people, text me ‘hello?’

‘Their liars!’ I scream in my blackened head
Rose red stains out the soul that has bled

Regret leaves me shattered, stabbed in the heart
Now I’m broken in pieces, I’ve been torn apart

I’ve tried to move on since you said goodbye
But was as all of our love just a cold empty lie?

Scott Thirtyseven Date: 8/14/2015 9:58:00 AM G'day Bellise, like those below I would like to welcome you to Poetry Soup. This however doesn't make my reason for visiting any easier. You have entered this Great poem above into my Haibun contest. However this poem is not a Haibun. You will find a link to pages of definitions of poetry forms, above. Anyway, like I said a good engaging poem, that I enjoyed reading, but as it not a Haibun it will not be getting past round 2. Next time maybe.
