Unexpected Peace

Peace flashes in unexpected glimpses
Streakes across a clouded sky
Moment by moment, beaming, radiating
Enveloping, elevating, levitating

Toxifying torments of the soul
Releasing only after letting go

Peace rolls in calming waves
Seeps in and fills the lungs with air
Shallow drowning breaths grow deep
Awakening, releasing, keeping
