Wounded Souls By Athena Williams

Can you hear me?
Can you hear us?
Can anyone understand me?
Can anyone understand us?
Is anyone there?
Is anyone out there for us?
Does anyone really care?
Is anyone trying to feel for anyone?
Does anyone feel for anything anymore?
There are those who are different
we are all different
but the same
we bare the mark
The cuts
The bruises
The scars
And the pain
The scars that are branded on our souls
From the abuse in flicteded upon us
The scars that continue to linger are still there
Our souls hurt
Our souls ache
Our souls cry out in agony
Our souls cry out in pain
Our souls feel so much
They can not
Bare the weight of so much
We feel so much guilt
Our guilt is a burden to our souls
The guilt of being told that we are bad
That we are no good
The guilt of being told
That we deserve what has been done to us
That no man or woman will ever want us
That no one will want us
Being told
That we are not wanted by men at all
The guilt of being told this
Due to we are too fat
Too thin
That we are damaged goods
The guilt of being told
That we are too ugly
That we are too stupid
That is what we are told by our abuser's, and molester's
That this is what we do to get a man
So we do things in order to get a husband
This is what we have to do to be good wives
Just so we can get a man to love us
They say that they tell us these things for our own good
That we wanted it
Being told by our abuser's
That they hit us because they love us
Parents tell us that it isn 't true
That it is our fault
That we were flirting with their man
The guilt of being told
That we wont amount to anything
They are wrong
We don't deserve any of this
Love is what we need
We just want to be accepted
For who we are
We are people who just want to be left alone
We are wounded souls
Souls that need healing
Our souls need strength
Or how else can we move on?
If we always feel condemed
How can we move on?
If our souls are being tortured
How can we move on?
If we can not find the proper place to do so
How can we move on?
If no one wants to listen
How can we move on at all?
How can we?
We must be able to heal
Our Wounded Souls
