She's Going To a Better Place

He stared at her for a long while
Wondering when he'd have to say goodbye
He reminded himself of her sweet smile
And the began to cry
He wept until his tears burned his face
And the started singing a song
He clutched in his hand, her hankerchief of lace
And contemplated on what went wrong
She's as beautiful as a butterfly
And has a voice like a bird
As he thought to himself, he let out a sigh
And recited a poem he had heard
It was about keeping love that wouldn't last
And lever letting go
This was all happening so fast
More than he could know
As he finished up his little rhyme
She passed away that very night
Sadly, he was out of time
But somehow, someway he was alright
