She's Going To a Better Place

He stared at her for a long while Wondering when he'd have to say goodbye He reminded himself of her sweet smile And the began to cry He wept until his tears burned his face And the started singing a song He clutched in his hand, her hankerchief of lace And contemplated on what went wrong She's as beautiful as a butterfly And has a voice like a bird As he thought to himself, he let out a sigh And recited a poem he had heard It was about keeping love that wouldn't last And lever letting go This was all happening so fast More than he could know As he finished up his little rhyme She passed away that very night Sadly, he was out of time But somehow, someway he was alright
