The poem(s) are below...

Why Do We Do the Things We Do?

WHY DO WE WALK ON BY
PRETENDING WE DON'T SEE
WE JUST TRY OUR HARDEST
TO BE EVERYTHING WE CAN BE

WE SEE HOMELESS PEOPLE
BUT WE JUST DON'T CARE
EVEN THOUGH IN OUR MINDS
WE KNOW THAT IT'S NOT FAIR

WE WAIT OUR WHOLE LIVES
JUST TO DRIVE A CAR
EVEN THOUGH IT DOESN'T DEFINE
WHO WE REALLY ARE

WE DROP FRIENDS BUT GAIN SOME TOO
CLOSE COUPLES SAYING IT'S NOT TIME
WE MAY DRINK AND MAYBE NOT
IT'S YOUR CHOICE TO COMMIT A CRIME

NOW WHY DO WE DO THE THINGS WE DO
IT'S YOUR CHOICE TO DECIDE
MAKE SURE IT'S FROM THE HEART
MAKE IT DEEP DOWN INSIDE
