Craving Recovery

I long for, Hope, Seek and Crave
 
My spot in the sunlight;
 
The light upon my face.
 
 
 
 
I avoid my pitfalls, the using,
 
Submission into what I crave.
 
I feel weak inside,
 
But I know it is now; I must be brave.
 
 
 
 
I sense it all around me,
 
No matter how far I try to escape;
 
That using with freedom and happiness
 
Is a luxury I no longer can create.
 
 
 
 
To drink, to use, would surrender my soul.
 
But today I find myself surrounded
 
With support, strength and hope.
 
 
 
 
I have a sort of strength inside me;
 
Guiding me from within.
 
I look to the future with uncertainty
 
But today I simply must begin.
