You’re favourite Hue
You used to know me.
You knew me when I was
Iridescent, and captivatingly bold
My colours were valiant,
Demanding their presence
Amongst any dull horizon.
You saw my light,
But since you prefer a calmer hue,
You dimmed me.
You used to know me.
It wasn’t the version you first met,
It was the version now jaded,
Plagued by Consequences.
The aftermath of
A once brave light
now turned fearful.
Charged Luminescence then
Turned Dull, muted,
Weakened to the ambience you felt
Safe to bask in.
The kind of light you enjoyed
Coming home to.
You knew me then,
But not now.
Vibrant hues reawakened
Bright, bold, but humble.
An artwork made of all the
Sunlight and storms from the
Years that came before,
No longer hidden
From the clouds that refused
To give them residence.
Saturation deepened
By their perseverance to
Be seen.
And for that, I can
Say it was worth something.
