Brown Eyes

Dirt and clay
Umber to warm red
A large array
A nightly dessert spread
A wild intense flame
Bright and bold
Sparks light, left untamed
A warmth through the sandy cold
A gentle flicker
Into the light
Something deep and thicker
Than the dark night
Comfort in the dirt and clay
Familiarity in their own way

I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
