A Man with No Dreams

A child once stood
at the edge of a cliff
wondering what he wanted to be.
His face, his feet, his heart
Oh so Divine!
His happy smile can bring tears to my eyes.
A creature so divine
without the marks of time.

Now the same child,
Wearing a school bag stands again,
probably of 8 or 9 years.
His face full of hope.
His features still so divine.
He thought about what he wanted to be
Yet he is conflicted
Whether to follow his heart or his parents.

Again came the same child,
now much older at around 12 years.
However, his face no longer full of hope.
His hands, his feet, his eyes
all so rugged from working.
Even his smile was no longer true.
It was sinister and full of lies.
He again thinks what he wants to be
but he still doesn't succeed.

The child was standing yet again,
Now, aged around 16.
His face could not be described.
Indeed, it is as if there is no emotion to be seen.
His hand, his feet, his eyes
no longer look human.
Even his smile didn't look human.
It was as if someone forced
a wolf to smile.
He no longer thinks what he wants to be.
He instead thinks where he went wrong.
"How do my classmates have such vivid dreams?
Why can't I find a reason to live? To continue?
I am useless and death is my only friend."
Indeed, in the end, whether by choice or by consequence,
He had become a demon
A man without hope, without aspirations.
A Man with No Dreams.
