When Living Became Hell

When did my life transition?
From living my dreams
To just existing
As a perishable being?

Was it then,
When I stopped trusting people?
Or,
Distanced myself from the loved ones?
Or,
Let the toxic people decide for my life choices?
Or,
When I build on others' false hopes and promises?

When was my life reduced,
To mere existing?

Was it then,
When I gave up on friends?
Or,
When a best friend showed [me] her hellish side?
Or,
I stopped caring for the seasons?
Or,
I ignored the flowers blooming at my doorstep?

Exactly,
When the hell started?

Was it then,
When I just let myself gripped away,
In the loneliness and the dark?
Or,
When the dark thoughts took over,
And blackened my bright side?
Or,
When I started to beat myself up,
For the things that went wrong?
Or,
When I gave up and decided,
To sit back?

The dreams are what make life a living,
The soul it is that drives the body,
The desire is what brings out the life,
For a perishable body that just needs food to survive.

Life becomes a hell,
For those who want it to be.
Choose for the stars [heaven],
How hard can it be?
