Tick Tick

What is it
That girl who rides that rollercoaster,
The one that brings others fear—
They call her Brave
The truth is she lives for thrill
Is it Brave if it doesn’t shake her to the core ?

That boy that saved his dog from the pool;
They call him Brave, that he has courage—
He loves the water
Why is he Brave?

What is it about them?
When I work up the courage to speak up in class
When I introduce myself to the new
When I try to be brave
When I am me
It’s not brave
When I am brave they call it “normal”

When he barley passes the math test,
he relishes in praise
While I get the top grade,
But “I didn’t try that hard, it comes easy to me”

What is it about them?
Why does it affect me
Why doesn’t it affect me
When I am brave they call it “normal”
But “normal” is hard
