Darkness and Light

Darkness & Light

There was a light I used to see,
That I pursued till I was down on my knees.
I hoped some day I would reach it's warmth,
As the years passed on, I just felt harmed.

There was a time I was full of life,
But the darkness, it kept me alive.
In it's embrace I felt so strong,
Only to realize, I was never meant to be born.

She came to me at night in the storm,
She breathed into me the love that I longed.
She showed me a life of promise and distress,
Oh, those times of happiness and of duress.

The season have past the reasons unclear,
I was left in the light, feeling unsure.
The darkness I loved, it made me whole again,
But now that she’s gone there’s darkness no more.

The rise and the fall didn’t hurt me in ways,
A shattered bleeding heart is not the pain.
I search through the night and all through the day,
If I could see her once more, is all that I pray.

Love me again, my beautiful dark,
Walk by my side and fly like a lark.
This desolate home, has no promise,
For you are my love, my pain and solace.

I face my demons, every day, always in every way,
But its unclear yet what my destiny be.
If only the reason be clear or even intention,
Does Darkness or Light prevail…
