You

You

You are so big
Like the sun
My eyes burn
You can not have my shadow

Once I was shining
Now small and angry and tired
You remind me over and over and over
Look up at the sun

Stay out of my head
I am diminished one word at a time
Crowded out, Day after day after day
A hardened shell

History repeats
I am at fault
I chose this battle
You were simply there

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
