20 wasted years

I used to be tired all the time.
I used to be tired all the time cuz we would talk all night.
I used to be tired all the time cuz we would make love all night.
I used to be tired all the time.

I’m tired all the time.
I’m tired all the time, cuz you aren’t next to me.
I’m tired all the time wondering what you’re doing.
I’m tired all the time hoping you’re ok.
I’m tired all the time.

Nicely written, Derek. The theme, although heartbreaking, is relatable. I love the use of the same wording to reflect different meanings. Good job, sir.

Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
