A Mother's Past
In the tapestry of life, threads went astray, A absent presence in your youthful play. Through tender moments, I was not near, I weep for the laughter I failed to hear.Grown now, my kids, with hearts full of ache, I missed your first steps, your dreams in the wake. In the silence of absence, love remained, A connection fractured, but never stained.Years slipped away, like sand through my hands, I failed to grasp life's most delicate strands. The echoes of laughter I never shared, In the void of absence, I've deeply bared.Yet, hope blooms eternal, like a sunrise bright, For love transcends distance, conquers the night. In the garden of time, forgiveness may sow, A bridge to the past, where apologies flow. With tears as my ink, on this parchment of rue, I pen this apology, a promise anew. For every missed moment, a prayer I send, In the book of love, may our broken chapters mend.
