Battleground

In this chaotic world, my mind finds its battleground,
Gathering fragments, one by one, from all around.
Memories flood in, piece by piece,
Life's battles are relentless, they never cease.

Within lies a darkness, trapping me in its hold,
Her eyes, like a storm, fierce and bold.
A calm before the tempest, they portray,
Her story of pain and sorrow, day by day.

Scars hidden, unseen by those who pass by,
Emotions running deep, only I can identify.
My mind in constant motion, running wild,
While my body remains frozen, like a child.

My shield shattered, in need of repair,
Healing slowly, but I'm still caught in despair.
Nightmares haunt me, ever so vivid,
Beside the fears, here's where I'm livid.

Anxiety holds me captive, unable to speak,
Silently, tucked away, alone and weak.
Dreams manifest true, yes, it's their power,
But don't forget, nightmares can also tower.

Dreams, an escape we yearn to obtain,
Love, the force above, that helps us sustain.
Hope, our coping mechanism in despair,
Faith, the chain that keeps us aware.

Embrace the life that has taken hold,
Forge your path, make it your battleground bold.
Make your dreams a reality, let them come true,
And let your nightmares tremble in fear of you.
