Whenever You'Re Ready

when you walk through and reshaping melts the binding glue
nothing in my heart will remember you
not the hardest blow to my soul, the grief of my newfound total
you'll have to imprint again
slide under my shelled skin
work your way into a constant life line

we'll spend every second together
strengthen the ever- present silver cord, tethered
find together, learn together, emerge together

somewhere around the third decade it'll click we've met before
deeper than just family
the same past our human core
past our arched feet and thick vinyl floor

and when my body drops, when your one true love is gone
know I'm not
know that I'm not

I'll be hidden in the dark
in my realm at peace but lost

moments come of pulled connection I'll see you again
on earth both here and then
again, again, again

rewarded with the safety of together
let nothing heal us till we're better
just outside the field of good and bad

fallen with the lost things, other groups of energy
all of them on belonging on pedestals next to you and me
rejoicing in their unity
connected souls of twos and threes
let me close my eyes and take all this in please

we'll spend every second together
strengthen the ever- present silver cord, tethered
find together, learn together, emerge together

enter the familiar portal
lose enlightenment
replay
I'm immortal

we'll be hidden in the plane
bursting, burning string in flames

it ends:
I'll turn my head and say
can't stay
whenever your ready
baby

light washes over the night
light washes over the night

when you walk through and reshaping melts the binding glue
nothing in my heart will remember you
not the hardest blow to my soul, the grief of my newfound total
you'll have to imprint again
slide under my shelled skin
work your way into a constant life line
