The Serpent Hymn

I once met him,
The Snake,
Sly, subtle, cunning,
Eater of gods,

The Snake,
Smart and seeing,
Eater of gods,
Upon its own tail,

Smart and seeing,
A Serpent,
Upon its own tail,
Sweetest smile,

A Serpent,
Slip-shape,
Sweetest smile,
Fateful fang,

Slip-shape,
Poison breath,
Fateful fang,
Shoud-skin,

Poison breath,
Rebel against Lord,
Shoud-skin,
Guide of The Garden,
