Feelings
Feelings,
The things I feel like I have to hide,
No words,
As if I am unable to speak,
As if my mouth is sewn shut,
When someone asks if I am ok,
Only words I can manage to say are “i’m fine”,
Words that I feel will never be true,
Words that feel wrong every time they depart from my lips,
But yet the words i need to describe how i feel,
Forbidden to my tongue,
But they leak from my heart like water from a faucet,
And explode in my head as if my brain was laced with bombs,
I breathe in and out in an attempt to keep the truth in,
But the words burn on my tongue like a newly lit fire,
Feelings.
