How I Broke a Man

He gave my heart hope when it was broken into many pieces,
But I shattered his into millions and billions of pieces and looked away.
He gave me hope when all was lost and destined for failure,
But I made him lose all hope in ever trusting a woman.
He showed me the brighter side of life he became the light at the end of the tunnel,
But I left in the dark mist feeling helpless and alone.
He went all and above to try and mend my broken self,
But I instead broke him to the point of repair.
He never let me down, went all and above for my love and trust,
But I let him down, neglected and shunned him,
He was flawless loving and caring had no mistakes,
But I gave him flaws wanting a reason to be unfaithful.
He gave me his time and attention,
But I saw him as a waste of time and not worthy of my attention.
He gave me fulfilment and made me feel whole,
But I just fed my selfish and bruised ego.
He was my somebody to lean and rest on,
But I put up a wall so high he kept on hitting himself on.
He showed that time is still like the moon and stars,
But I lost focus and started chasing things beyond my reach.
He was all and above what I was always looking for,
But I was stupid and foolish that is how I broke a man.
