The Lie From Fairytales

The sleeping beauty surrounded by lackluster roses-
She receives rest I never shall,
Whilst I work my hand and mind to bone and broth.
The star-crossed lovers staring down from the heavens-
Blissful and gay in each others presence,
And I in my own tragedy of loneliness.
The maiden with strands of gold intertwined in scalp-
Majestically long, which attracted princes from afar,
My own hair that attracts repulsed glances laced with silent malice.
The white serpent which entrusts animal tongue to human beast-
By perfect preservation in silver and stomach,
However, I was bitten instead of gifted.
The perfectly made woman whom roams the floor of the ball-
Is she who is found by the prince,
And in all her waning splendidness runs away in raggedness;
But I have never experienced such splendor for even a moment.
The great white whale within the bottomless sea,
Whom in all his power was never attained,
And I who stand meekly and unhealthily in ridicule cannot escape.
My presence in life who would collect dust rather that fall victim to timeless fairytale-
And the endlessness of every story that is no longer relevant to the current dream of youth,
I have discovered such disgust for the hope instilled by these, as it was filled with their lies of great proportion distorted by inhumane reality.
