Anxiety

Eyes glisten,
Observing all
Heart rate quickens,
Thoughts coalesce
Millions of roads
End at the same junction
Ruin and thrill
Please let me off

Expectations arise
Melencholy to the words spoke
Emptiness but reason
Explanation feels
Wordless
Status quo remains

Reason
Doubt
Self-righteousness
Doubt
Exuberance
Doubt
Pain
Doubt

Do right
Do right
Why do others not
I am doing right
It's all I can do
Conscious, deliberate
Fake, empty
Do right
Do right
Nothingness remains

Expectations met
Emptiness remains
Uncomfortable silence
Empty humility
Accept praise
Or deny
Exuberance, denial, steadfast decision
Maintain, maintain
Future remains

Bright, joy
Sun. Smile
Laughter, pain
Expectation arise
Stern, fair, tears, laughter
Teach, confusion
Understanding
Pain
