The Day I Snapped

The day I snapped was a glorious day
I had this feeling inside me that wasn’t going away
The band had been pulling tighter for a while now
I tried to hold it together but I didn’t know how
The little remarks in passing made it shake
Comments made in jest let it quake
The looks, the attitude, the stress of it all
It was too much

The day I snapped was a glorious day
The feelings bundled inside just wandered away
The band was happy and so was I
Sure, I was holding on to two broken pieces
Two halves of a whole
But maybe that was what I needed
Maybe somethings need to be broken before they can be fixed
