Beautiful: An Escape

Can I run away?
Can't I run away?
Run away to a place called beautiful?

But what is beautiful?
Not what we want,
but the sun shining and the birds singing and the trees swaying and my heart pounding.
But the sun shines so bright
I can't open my eyes
So, can I run away?

Why does the world feel so cold?
Its not even winter yet
What's with the dry autumn-like behavior?
Where can I find warmth?

Where do I go?
Which desert? Which ocean? What mountain? What island?
Is there really any place called beautiful?
that is warm enough?
And safe enough? To be called home?

I ran away. I am running.
But what if I never find my beautiful?
Where should I go then?
Should I just lie down here?
Leaving everything behind?
And rest?

I finally open my eyes,
and see this light, never fading away.
The light of warmth,
The light of home,
The light beautiful.

Now I see the world at a distance.
The cold cannot reach me now.
Now I never want to close my eyes.
And now I never want to run away.

This is a really beautiful poem, Flower. You are right. Where and how far can one run away? Face life. Good Wisdom.
