The pang of loneliness weighs down my chest
like a bucket collecting rain water.

The sounds of silence reverberate through my empty chest cavity,
reminding me of the heart that no longer resides there.

Some days last minutes-others, months.
Time is a trusted companion or a feared adversary.

The burden of life permeates my thoughts.
Validation is the only reprieve;
requests for so bear no response.

A person untethered bears a wandering soul.
No love to rely on, no one to call home.

So, at this thought, I propose, nay, prescribe-
let's convene all the lonesome, the empty the troubled,
fill them with love till their pain is all muddled.
Replenish the soul and the mind and the heart;
human connection, that's a wonderful start.
