Cowgirl
When you arrived from the East
Into God's country, running from the beasts
I noticed your distant fire
The following, prowling wolves grew tired
I rode with heals of thunder
Shielding you away from their hunger
Fierce is this cowgirl - yes, I am
Strong is this woman - stronger than you know
No evil will penetrate her man no more
Great granddaughter of the greatest farmer
My childhood summers spent in God's country
Where real Christians told the truth and prayed before dinner
I welcomed this battered cowboy into my homestead
And together we rode down the path of righteousness
Into God's loving sunset.
The trailing dust took with it the lies - good bye.
