My Tips For Dealing With Shame

My tips for dealing with shame

Set up a camera
Get naked
And stand in front of the lens
Relax
Walk in a circle
And watch the tape back
Regularly
And begin to own
This is your body
This is how you really look
And make acceptance with that
“This how I really look”

Recognize everyone has cried
And peed themselves
And pooped themselves
And wants to be loved
and fit in

We are all really uncool
And that’s okay

Reckon with the fact that you’ll die
And that you will stop crossing people’s mind after a while
You’re not that serious
in the grand scheme of things
So don’t feel too much importance
when you make a mistake
It really is not the end of this world

Listen to your body
and make acceptance with your impulses
Get in therapy
Deal with your trauma
Accept the truth of who you are
And where your roots come from
If you’re so privileged
as to have access to that information

Find something that matters to you
And commit to it
Live for it
Die for it
Because
As mentioned before
You’re dying either way

Believe there is nothing relatable or helpful
About pretending you’re perfect
Be open
Be humble
Be vulnerable
Help someone

Accept
The lack of control
Accept your lack of control
And live with the comfort of temporary

Everything will pass
And everything will end

Except for those two things

-To be continued as I grow up...

this is a brilliant poem, shame is something that can be difficult to deal with... we should always lose control sometimes... welcome to the soup...
