Because of You

/I'm getting rather old these days
And some may say, set in my ways
Because I've seen so many Springs
Within my brain live many things

December 7 - Pearl Harbor Day
The start of life a whole new way
Four long years, each day aware
Our brave force was "over there"

They fought so hard and won the day
We cheered and cried VE and VJ
Not all returned, make no mistake
They gave their lives for freedom's sake

If life goes on with carefree days
So many paid in many ways
Stop - say thank you, we do care
We think of you and say a prayer

And now we face more long hard days
As we fight to save our ways
Not just for us, but others too
The world lives on Because of You

A thankful American/
