Harp Seal

Wearing virgin white
Pure and innocent
You come in to this world
Love, peace and kindness is all you know
You only kill for survival

If you're still alive in 2 weeks
You will lose your virgin white
You will become a silvery grey
That is when you are safe
That is when you are free

But be aware
Of the most dangerous animal
He will be carrying a club or gun
He will be wearing your family on his back
And his shoes will be stained red

Mum Mum help me cries the little seal
The man the Hunter is trying to kill me

With bullet holes in her side
The wounded mother
Rolls her way along
Too late
Her baby's gone
In its place
A pool of blood

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Maddi, this is so terrible, and horrible and mean and true. I hope we can stop it. Welcome to Poetry Soup. Well done!
