The World Today

Every time I wake up, I'm glad that I'm still here.
Some people aren't afraid to die, but me I have that fear.

But when my time finally comes, I hope it's peaceful.
Not like most people, slow, painful, and dull.

I wish I was able to look into the future,
To see what the world has to hold.

I always wonder is hell really hot down there,
People don't seem to wonder, but they should care.

If people continue to hurt one another,
I can't imagine what the world will become.

I will try to live life, day by day,
and make the best of what I have, even through all the dismay.
