My World

Can't break these walls between us
Separated by so many pieces
Falling, shattered I watch you pass by
Never again am I a part of that world
That world that makes so many people cry

'Cause this is my world
I stand away from the rest
Black amongst white
Watch me darken your light
But in my world truth isn't made of lies
'Cause in my world it's just me by my side

Force yourself to look away
My soul is ugly to your faith
Living under your oath while breaking a thousand promises
In this world I'm segregated to the end
So separated, but maybe that's just our trend

But this is my world
Here you don't belong
'Cause in your world
I can never come along
Black amongst white, watch me darken your light
But my truth isn't made of lies
'Cause in my world it's just me by my side

I see you all walking
Walking your paths to nowhere
Don't even know where you're going
But it's at me that you stare
So tear your dirty eyes away from me
You've got nothing to look at here
Keep walking your paths to nowhere
Keep going, even when they've stripped you bare

And this is my world
Where one stands away from the rest
'Cause in my world
There's no such thing as the best
It's just me and myself
Looking in while you look out
Breaking hearts while it's our own we try to mend
But in both our worlds
The suffering never ends.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
