Couldn'T Save You

When did everything change?
Where did I go wrong?
Was there something I could have done?

Maybe I could have held onto you tighter
I should've said something
Instead of standing there
Watching you fade away

I couldn't save you
I didn't know how, at the time
Did I make the pain worse?
I'm sorry if I did

You looked at me with those tear stained eyes
No words
Just silence
They told the story, though

You fought for so long
Then, you gave up
You let go of my hand
And I never heard from you again.

My Demons

You left me here
Standing alone

My demons surround me
Doubt to the left
And fear to the right

I'm gasping for air
But I can't breathe
Because anxiety suffocates me

My demons won't let go
The grasp on tighter
Around my neck
Choking me until I can't see

Why did you leave me here alone, in this chaos?
People say this is part of a greater plan.
Is it really?

Or, did you just leave me here to die?

My Love

I don't believe in love at first sight
It takes time to find true love
Love isn't magical
It takes patience and must virtue

The words "I love you" are thrown around to often
But, my love, I love you

The late night talks make all the pain go away
You believe in me even when I do not believe in myself

We cry together
And we laugh together

Sometimes I don't feel like I deserve you
But, my love, you are beautiful to me
Inside and out

This isn't a fairytale
Nor is it a dream
We have our ups and downs
Forever, my love, the passion burning inside us remains
