No Promises

When hard comes, the struggle,
greater comes, the extended strength.
A person discovers, whom they, really are,
living through, the truly, difficult length.

For no promises, is there, in continuance,
of all, the goodness, without the bad.
In one moment, things are, how they be,
in the next, things aren't, what you had.

The Potential For Love

Excite for the opportunity,
gracious of the chance.
For the possibility, to discover,
our connection, in romance.

In hopes, of us, finding,
the aspirations, of us, to gain.
A relationship, where all, is shared,
through our happiness, and our pain.

However, with there, being risk,
in each others reflected credential.
We can never, be truly afraid,
to seek, our true, love potential.

The Acceptance of the Unexpected

When hopes become high,
or when for granted is taken.
When you least expect it,
you will soon, become awaken.

Realizing no one has immunity,
to a fate, that has taken place.
Becoming strong, and acceptance of truth,
from what one must truly face.

For the hurt will always come,
and pain is unavoidable, for all affected.
Better becomes a person,
who comes into terms, of the unexpected.

The Uniform of Sacrifice

Upon me is a garment,

unlike any other.

An entity that I share,

with my sister and my brother.

Worn on the battlefield,

and when ever were, at home.

A representation of our strength,

where ever place we roam.

Another part of my being,

like my character, from within.

Becoming a dear close friend, that truly knows,

what I done, and where I been.

An a reminder to those,

whom never been, a participant, to a war.

The price for life, paid for freedom,

of soldiers, who truly been there before.

Of soldiers, not thinking twice,

getting dressed in uniform attire.

Fighting for freedom, till the end,

while under extreme enemy fire.

So, please pay your absolute respects,

when a uniform soldier, is ever near.

He or she does, what they do, for country,

despite their hardship, and their fear.

Takes Courage To Cry

Taught while becoming a man,
to hold back the sadness, one would sadly feel.
Yet there is only so much, a person can hold,
especially, when the pain, inside is for real.

While putting forth, a false positive look,
where does all the pain inside, then go.
Afraid to release the pain, tighten like a vise,
unwilling, to let the people, who care, to then know.

With pressure building, then whom is protected,
during the posing and replying, of such a lie.
Eventually, all would know the truth,
for the pain, one feels, will not, let one deny.

So, why wait , till all comes, crashing down, because,
of fear, of what others, may see through, each eye.
Big becomes a man, who shows, his true heart,
who is then able, to take the courage, to cry.

Upon the Sands Is Soccer

On the field of golden sands,
is a sport played with one’s feet.
A ball is kicked to one’s teammate,
to make a score, or avoid being beat.

The field lays right in the middle,
the two goals placed, outside the scene.
Players playing directly, with tenacity and passion,
as if, watched from a stadium, being seen.

Bouncing a ball, on top of their head,
or off their very knee, dribbling the ball, down the line.
The ball is passed from one to the other,
in hopes,of making the goal, from their, creative design.

The opponent deflects, and steals the ball,
To prevent the other team, to ever win.
No anger or hatred is ever shown,
with all enjoying themselves, with a friendly grin.

Smiling through a spectacular game,
if only, for a time, truly made brief.
Escaping the madness, of their world,
to find some kind of, temporary relief.

A Warrior's Struggle

In the present moment,
my body can't be at home.
But home is where the heart is,
my heart is there, when I roam.

Currently on an important mission,
to make right, from what is wrong.
An ambassador of America, I become,
encouraging a country, to be strong.

Underneath there truly lies,
a hard sacrifice in what I do.
In my very being, I remind myself,
people deserve freedom like I do.

A Joke On Someone's Own Behalf

You have no idea, who I am,
however, for you, I'm here, to entertain.
I'm just a mere joke, for you, to mock
to bring forth, more fans, for you, to gain.

Why must I be your target,
what did, I ever do, to you.
To be treated, less than human, like my feelings,
don't count, when only your feelings, then do.

Afraid are you of what you don't understand,
of whom, is different than your very own being.
Still doesn't give you the direct right to make fun,
of those, in life, you don't really want to be seeing.

Wise I become to realize this, and stronger,
in myself, to walk with my head held high.
I have pride and the inner love, of myself,
no matter, what you do, my spirit, I won't deny.

So go ahead, and make a smirk,
and giggle, make a crack, for all, to laugh.
For I know, the shoe, will be put on the other foot,
and you be the joke for someone's own behalf.

God Is a Lifesaver

Once in a while, one feels, as if, ones,
stranded, in the middle, of the ocean.
Going through, anxiety, and fear, with nothing, to cling,
while one sinks, without lift or motion.

Still there is, even though, may seem, as not,
during this experience, that is, what one, now face.
Love is near, despite not, being clear,
if ones alone, without a trace.

However, one is not, and never, one will,
be alone, in this isolation, oh so great!
For where, there's love, there is god,
whom for you, will do, and is never late.

Cold As the Driven Snow

Many hearts in pain, are out there,
ready to lash out, on people unknown.
Even though the people unknown, aren't responsible,
the latter, still chip away, at people's hearts, like stone.

At times, for no reason, but to pursue,
to get their kicks, to get their thrill.
Just to see, what they can, get away with,
while breaking down, on a human's aspiring will.

With all the bitterness, falling emotionally downward,
upon the rest of us, as if, standing there, is a given.
Like us caught standing, in a winter storm,
with snow falling, being cold and extremely driven.
