Ying and Yang

Yang
My lighter tang
The half of me that I
Supposedly maintain
Insane
How you can act like a color
Or how I act I guess is
Nothing like my mother.
Yang
An exclusion from yin
And sometimes claiming my other half
Is looked at as a sin
Where do I begin?
Slavery and thick skin
Masters and rich men
Dan in a lion's den
Shouting from all ends
A rivalry from when?
Followed by

Yin
A "darkness within"
When I showcase the hood roots
My mother was born in
By speakin'
The tongue of my own home
Tongue from which a love grown
This broken English I've known
But is supposedly for the yin alone
A culture to which I can't subscribe
Because I'm not dominated
By my yin side
No pride
One part is denied
Because I display the characteristics
Of two contrasting sides

Yin and Yang
Two opponents in the same game
Two brothers with different names
Two lovers from opposing gangs
Different but the same
Repel yet meet
Contrast yet complete
In theory at least.
In their constant rotation
Constant struggle and frustration
The battle never seems to
Cease.

Definition: Beauty

The Crimson that rises in your cheeks
When you blush, and cannot speak
The true definition of beauty

Your golden hair with drops of sun
Glistening unlike anyone
The true definition of beauty

The ocean I see in your eyes
Crashing on the shore; when you cry
The true definition of beauty

Tickled pink lips on the face of your
May they kiss me forevermore
The true definition of beauty

Brown freckled beautiful face
And pearly white smile that lights the place
This artificial world that demands more
May leave you with feelings so sore
But oh my love can't you see
You're my definition of beauty

Cherry Wine

Our love was cherry wine
You the glass
And I the bottle
And like clockwork
I poured everything into you
Your lip was meant
To touch none but mine
For our love was cherry wine

Our love became champagne
You were the bottle
And I the glass
But you refused
To pour into me
Your lip touched
He with a different name
For our love was a sham pain

You Are a Stone Mountain

You are a steep mountain.
Offering me no hope to scale you.
Giving me no rocks to cling to
No reason for me to push through.
No matter how much I train my body
In an attempt to reach the top
You are a steep mountain
And though I try to climb
I drop.

You are a stormy sea
Offering me no hope to cross
Offering thunder claps to make me deaf
Giving me tidal waves to knock me into the depths
Allowing me no escape except through death
And no matter how much I train myself
Or how big I build my boat
You are a stormy sea
And I can never stay
Afloat
