Pain Behind the Mask

She masks the pain from her face
Replaces it with a smile,
Convinces you of her happieness
Just for a little while.


But then the cracks begin to show
And the mask begins to slip,
You see her world unwravel slowly
Like paper rip by rip.

Though her worlds in pieces
She gaurds those pieces tight,
She'll find a way to fix herself
She may not get it quite right.

But she will come out of this fighting
She always finds a way,
She stands tall and tells herself 
"Tommorrows another day".

Falling Into the Abyss

My life at the moment is hard
And im finding it hard to cope,
Its like im abseiling
But freely with no rope.

No excitment, no thrill
Just pain and hurt,
Im falling, crashing, falling
Face down in the dirt.

My battered broken body
Lays there in a heap,
I know where i need to be
"But im not strong enough" I weep.

My lonlieness consumes me then
And i curl up and cry,
Seems as though the battles lost
I just want to give up and die.

I cant be like them i thought
Im not strong enough to stand,
I'll lay here and wallow
Bury my head in the sand.

Something ignites in me..
I feel the strenghth to fight,
Im gonna get out of here...
Im leaving here tonight!

I claw my way out of despair
Away from this gloomy pit,
And i see something
A pathway clearly lit.

And the second i saw that light
I knew it was for me,
Sheer courage and strength just poured out
As that light guided me.

A Mothers Love

I cried out in the darkness
And couldnt find you there
I did ridiculous things to feel your love
And still you didnt care.

I fought with you so often
I just wanted you by my side
To be there to support me
Or hug me when i cried.

Your meant to love us all the same
And some days i see you try
But, i know you cant love me like them
And i just dont understand why?

Birthday in the sky

As another birthday rolls around,
 Its another i will cry,
As we celebrate in sadness,
Your birthday in the sky....

I miss you  with my very being,
And every breath i take,
Another year with out you dad,
Another year il ache...

No texts, calls or cake for you,
But you’ll have a birthday all the same,
We do something special every year,
Even the boys know your name...

So happy birthday daddy,
I hope iv done you proud...
Sending you half kisses,
As you sit upon your Cloud....

No

The thought of you repulses me,
But all i do is think.
I try to drown your image, 
In sorrow, drugs and drink.

Yet the image is always there,
In the forefront of my mind.
Burned only into my scarred memory,
For no one else to find.
 
Distant screams of “NO” 
They never bothered you,
Nor the pleas to stop
That was when i knew.

Knew the fight was over,
My pleas just spurred you on,
How do you stop a monster?
When all your fight is gone?

Your nasty heavy breathing lingers on my body,
Despite washing every day,
Your scent will be embedded in my skin
It will never fade away....

What Happened To That Little Girl

What happened to that little girl?

Whatever happened to that little girl?
The one that was carefree and happy?
It seems as though shes lost.
Swallowed by life and buried by the world.
Forced to grow up way to soon...
Left to fend in this crazy placed called home,
Forced to create a hardened shell
To protect the little she has left of herself.
Shes been broken.
Broken by hard words and harsh realities.
She searches for love under every rock,
Only to get hurt more and to become more fragile.
Life has been so cruel, shes stopped fighting back.
Scared, cold, alone.
Shes so lost...
Damaged and used...
She walks through her days with a blank stare.
She wishes she wasnt there.
Why wont anyone help?
They see her walk away, pretending not to see anything.
Its easier to ignore it than to help.
She lies doelwn everyday and prays to never wake up.
The world is just too hard to take she was once a free spirit.
But now shes broken.
Maybe she will finally be free...
The day she is no longer here to be BROKEN.....

Im Sorry

Im sorry that im gone, 
And nothing is the same,
Im sorry all your left with,
Is a grave that bears my name.

Im sorry the road claimed my life,
And claimed me from you too,
Im sorry i cant be there for you,
And help you make it through.

Im sorry dreams of my passing,
Keep you from your sleep,
Im sorry i missed out on my grandsons,
But their memories I will keep.

A bird denied her freedom,
Caged from Her family,
Caged from the world,
Released only to be paraded around..
To fly on command,
To come when she was called...

Her song has gone...
Her fire extinguished,
The cage is all she knows.
Ahhh what she would give to be free...
