Howling At the Moon

Tripping thru the cosmos
 just the other afternoon
I saw Cleopatra dancing
on the dark side of the moon
I stopped by just to say hi
and she met me with a smile
and we rode cross the Sea of Tranquility
on her favorite crocodile

I told her it was getting late
and I really had to fly
Then I floated off to Jupiter
when Europa caught my eye
She's looking especially bright tonight
as she crosses Callisto's path
magnificently steller
at four billion and a half

The power of the universe
the secret of the grail
the mystery of all life itself
it's all there in your head
everything is everything
and everything is one
we're just billion year old carbon floaties
dancin in the sun

I nod my head and tip my hat
and bid to them adieu
so many things to see and do
before this trip is thru
I'll skate on the rings of Saturn
I will swim in Neptune"s seas
I'll sip champagne from the Big Dipper
as I dance with Pleiades
and when this trip is over
and I come down way too soon
I'll kneel beside Lon Chaney Jr.
and we'll both howl at the moon

The power of the universe
the secret of the grail
the mystery and the majesty
it's right there in your head
everything is everything
and everything is one
we're just billion year old carbon floaties
dancin in the sun

The Balance

a tree falls
a flower grows
a fire burns
a cool wind blows
a child is born
an old man goes
unto a place
where noone knows

the sun will set
in evening skies
as darkness falls
the moon shall rise
to be the master
of the tides
as each wave crashes
so it dies

people come
and people go
a neverending
ebb and flow
we're born so high
but die solo
and in between
is all we know

and on this day
I take a vow
I make a promise
here and now
to heed the call
of the ancient kings
to be at one
with everything

Insignificant

young girl sits at waters edge
splashing with her toes
makes ripples in the water
unaware of where they go
the ripples form a small wave
as they travel cross the river
unknowingly she sends a gift
and she becomes the giver
for just across the river
on a sandy earthen floor
a fish lies dying, earthbound
only inches from the shore
a small wave washes over it
as it takes it's dying breath
and pulls it to the water
only seconds before it's death
the fish received a miracle
not knowing of the source
and swam for deeper water
on a newly plotted course
the girl knew nothing of the fish
or her part in it's fate
or how just a tiny ripple
can become a force so great

Change

Strange
You know you thought you had it all worked out when
                                     Change!
came along and turned you inside out
                                     Change!
It's coming on like a hurricane
                                     Change!
Things are never going to be the same
                                     Change!
Will be your friend and foe through all the years
                                     Change!
It's bringing with it all your hopes and fears
                                     Change!
Sometimes for better, sometimes for worse
                                     Change!
The only constant in the universe

                                 Say a prayer,

                              Close your eyes

                                  It's the end

                             and then Surprise.....

                                   CHANGE !

The Threshold

I stand on the threshold, in front of the gate
my thoughts are raging inside
Should I go forward, determine my fate?
or should I run back and hide?
The road's been easy up until now
A few wrong turns on the way
Should I keep going? I don't know how
But if I don't, what will they say?
On this side is everything that I know
It's everything that I am
If I cross over, where will I go?
and can I come back again?
If I turn back, will things still be the same?
So much uncertainty
So many questions, so little time
Noone to answer but me
The time has come now
The die is now cast
My choice to lose or to win

I open the gate...

Step into the abyss...

Now let the game begin!
