Forgotten History

Woke up this morning all alone
What a feeling, one that I forgot how to know
It's alright though, I've been doing just fine
You aren't a worry in this mind of mine

All my friends have called "just checking in"
Thinking I'm taking this harder than I really am
Sure I miss you, sure I cared
But the same can't be said for you it was never really there

It doesn't bother me, seeing you with him
I know I'm better off with us staying friends
It was fun I guess, but it was never worth tears
Glad we figured this out before the months turned to years

Thanks for the fun we had, thanks for the wild ride
3 AM conversations and crossing the great divide
Thank you for the memories that will never fade away
And if you'd like to, we can always try again someday

But until then, I'm over it all
No more in love with you will I fall
Cause this romance of you & me
Now all it is, is our forgotten history

School

You spend 8 hours there
5 days a week
Learn knowledge you simply cannot bear
With people who's stupidity makes you weak

English, math, science, history
All of these classes are said
To be bare necessities
Four subjects that make everyone feel dead

The lunches are gross and atrocious
And so are the kids
Every one is so precocious
Nobody cares about what you did

You know the name of this place
Where the nerds fail and jocks rule
It is entirely a total disgrace
Ah yes, it is school

Two Words

Gentle spring,
Whispering creek,
Unearthed rock,
Lifeless, bleak,

Hidden lie
Staggering truth
Complete disgrace
Wasteful youth

Bitter life
Wasted remorse
Heartfelt death
Using force

Foolish hopes
Tired dreams
Wasting breath
That's me

Wishing Well

Another coin I've thrown
Into this wishing well
Hoping I can get home
Hope we aren't a kiss & tell

I looked into your eyes
Can't believe what I saw
I swore I saw the sky
Lost for words standing in awe

Another stone I've thrown
Down this old dirt path
That we used to call home
Memories showering me like a bath

I used to romanticize
The big city lights
I used to fantasize
Kept me up all night

And now that I'm here
And I'm away from you
I feel so full of fear
& I'm not sure what to do

I need you by my side
Help keep me sane
Need you in my arms at night
You're the only one who knows my brain

Another coin I've thrown
Into this wishing well
Got one train ticket home
Waiting for the bell

Tragedy

Such a travesty
The words I let you say to me
It's not fault that I can't be
Every promise every guarantee

Hearing these things you say
Ripping pieces of my heart away
Crying because of your every day
Lying and saying that I'm okay

What do you expect me to do?
When I'm always sad because of you
And I'm trying, I'm trying to
Stop these feelings of being so blue

And I wonder what you meant
September, it came and went
My texts were read but replies never sent
Really hating the years on you I spent
