I Miss You

I miss you,
like the sky misses the stars.
like the streets when there are no cars.
like a government that has no laws,
like music, when it is on pause.

I miss you,
like the desert misses the rain
like an addict without cocaine,
like a kiss that misses lips
like actors without their scripts.

You

Things at first were a little complicated
You pulled through, stayed and you waited.
Nobody had ever tried that hard for me
Your love for me seemed like the Carribean Sea.
Later on I realised you were the right one for me.
You were exactly the perfect cup of tea.

And with your dashing eyes,
You were my one and only prize.
And that beautiful smile,
You see, I got mesmerized for a while.
And the way your laugh sounded,
My heart - yes it poundeed.

Your words, made me fall in love
Little did I know, you became my one true love.
I'd think about the whole day
Even when my days were a little grey.
But see, you made my day. Every day.
Even with a normal, simple hey.

Our texts never seemed to end
With you, my time I would always spend.
All the times you made me blush
No trust me, you weren't just a crush.
I really tried my best to make you stay
Suddenly it felt like you wanted to run away.

And so I asked what was wrong
" Nothing, " You would say all along.
But I knew something was not right
Inside I was keeping all the fright.
The fright that you would leave
This feeling - only your love would relieve.

But things just kept getting worse
Everything was going in reverse.
I couldn't feel your love anymore
- Couldn't things just go back to how they were before?
Then came the day, you told the truth
Guess that this is just a part of youth.

You told me you didn't love me anymore
Right there my heart
- It openly tore.
I couldn't say it was the last thing I expected.
But I really never felt so rejected.
You were my bright, special star
But I guess ... Just really, really far.

And in the end, I'm left all alone
With my brittle heart of stone,
I'm doing better than I thought
Because I know that for you I fought.
Fought for you and me,
Now, I just have to let it be..
