Elizabeth Alexander Poem
Sadly gone ,but not forgotten
from your dispenser full of grace
the magic colour purple
upon my lips did place.
A colour filled with wonder
that matched my bright-blue eye's
that could never set asunder
the oh-so-joyous surprise.
How good it looked, how good to see
that riotous splash; that helped me, to be
not him but HER, not he but SHE
awaiting womanhood
that's me !

Elizabeth Alexander Poem
Onomatopoeic:
caw caw caw
the crow's on my roof
waiting for their breakfast,
chatter chatter
the magpie's call
usually first to the table,
a shrill little tweet
go the sparrow's and their relatives
awaiting their feed
in smaller bites
from the safety of their prickly bush;
the sounds of the morning's
for me
are heaven sent.

Elizabeth Alexander Poem
It's a bit like...
you are in a bathroom
filling a hot tub,
slowly the steam
covers the mirror...
and the mirror loses it's reflection;
that loss of reflection,
is my memory fading !

Elizabeth Alexander Poem
He to she hormones,
I have personal experience of...
your thinking processes alter,
your skin softens and thins,
muscle definition: is lost and reduces,
you experience mood swings
and burst into tears for no apparent reason.
Anti-androgens: block your testosterone production;
Progestins: reinforce that block and promotes duct growth;
Oestrogens: eventually feminize the body,
encourages some breast growth,
and body-fat re-distrabution.

Elizabeth Alexander Poem
Something within , that was, just died
thought 'she' would fill-in straight away
If all is fair in love and war
why does someone always get hurt ?
when I left me, I really cried.
Did not expect to take a day
why then did it, take 'I' so long?
I don't confess my love for you
something within.
What funny twist of fate did say
to drain the 'him' away with song
so love is hidden, with my pride
your friendship is more important
that I sill like women "that way"
something within.

I am left feeling foolish that I denied my true self for so long
(six decades),I mentally found it hard to accept
that I was in the wrong body.
did anyone even notice the even meter ?

Elizabeth Alexander Poem
I'm too tightly wrapped
my tears flow freely
struggle to breathe
heart's aching so dearly.
If I try to walk
I will surely fall down
I will break my glass body
and topple my crown.
heart's beating so fast
like It's gone for a run
it's heading straight into
the heart of the sun.
I just tried to stretch
and my neck just went "crack"
I'm way too reluctant
to take these high-heels back.

Elizabeth Alexander Poem
My positive side will love no sorrow
I could be what you want tonight
my negative side can be, just not right.
I'm likely not the one turning you on tomorrow
I could be turning you on tonight
my positive side will love no sorrow.
I wont be your definition of beautiful tomorrow
allow me to be beautiful tonight
my negative side can be ,just not right.
I wont drive you crazy tomorrow
I could drive you crazy tonight
my positive side will love no sorrow.
You wont be the ideal woman for me tomorrow
you could be my ideal woman tonight
my negative side can be, just not right.
I will be the last thing you need tomorrow
allow me to be the only thing you need tonight
my positive side will love no sorrow
my negative side can be , just not right.

Elizabeth Alexander Poem
I can tell the difference between
horse shit and cow shit,
I can tell the difference between
sheep shit and dog shit,
turn out I'm an expert
on all kinds of shit.

Elizabeth Alexander Poem
Myself being in love with you
was just the wrong thing for me to
my heart was broke, I almost choked
I was a woman , not a bloke.
To be betrayed in the worst way
my fault, because I gave you say
my soul was bent and almost broke
I was a woman, not a bloke.
I was badly used and abused
my heart was blackened , and so fused
my life was almost gone, I choke
I was a woman , not a bloke.
