Mackane Vogel Poem
It’s not just about being a ghost
Sometimes there is more
Caress your own head from time to time
And you’ll see, and you’ll feel,
And you’ll notice things
Things like the inevitable fact that
It’s been several years since summer
And several more since fall
But it’s not just about being a ghost
Tie your head on tight
Even if not in a pretty bow
Just don’t let the extra slack strangle you

Mackane Vogel Poem
Get me gone, get me golden
In a car, shrieking two emotions mixed as one;
Relief and excitement.
In a car, reaching high speeds,
Higher than permitted.
Permission sunk like a ship
Or rather dried up-
Like a raisin in the sun
But not my dreams.
Those are still green grapes.
Or maybe they’re red.
Color aside – they’re cold and they’re free.
