Bernard Barclay Poem
With dreams the west created factory's,
with dreams they invented car's,
with dreams they build space ships,
and travelled out past mar's,
with dreams the factory's build job's,
with dreams the jobs built careers,
with dreams the people built house's,
they didn't ask for you to help,
they built there live's themselve's,
you can build your life,
you can build your dream,
you can build your banks,
you can build your factory's,
you can build your shop's,
create the dream, create the drive,
learn to think and then to fly,
Why shoud you expect a hand out,
why should you expect a hand up,
in truth we have two feet and legs,
to walk upon ourselves,
We have a mind that also dreams,
a mind to build, our thoughts and schemes,
we can save and work together,
we can grasp at straws unseen,
we can live and grow together,
building dreams and goals undreamed,
we can climb on glory's mountain,
taste wealth in future streams.
the poor becoming wealthy,
on the backs of summer love,
we can build the cars and kingdom's,
live at peace beneath the stars.

Bernard Barclay Poem
Sunlight broke the shades began to fade
the crimson pinks and yellows showed the way
as daylight showed the wayward path to go
Mark the purple turtle headed home
Across the fields of clover did he roam
beside the banks of daffodills in bloom
He crossed the mighty river
ran down the muddy banks
but then from out of nowhere
a hawke came down to prey
Mark was always quick with wit
he knew that he was beaten
The hawke was much to fast
he knew he would be eaten
He had to think but fast
Mr hawke I know I'm beaten
Please grant me my request
please sing this song I've written
before you start your feast
The hawke thought yes he's beaten
I'll grant him his request
he sang the song twas written
with heart felt singing breast
but then the noise he's making
brought other forest beasts
and Mark the purple turtle
escaped in this melee
Next time when you are beaten
Remember Mark my friend
and use your brains for thinking
they are your biggest friend

Bernard Barclay Poem
Even the smallest ants,
cast long shadows,
as workers go,
they travel to and fro,
always working never stopping
never,do you hear, complaints
even the smallest of ants,
cast long shadows
Never unemployed,
the hive they protect,
with their live's,
always working never stopping,
even the smallest ants,
cast long shadows,
much have we to learn,
our hive the world
do we give our live's,
to protect the hive,
alway's working,
never stopping,
we complain,
we think of just ourselves,
we attack we destroy,
our hive the world.

Bernard Barclay Poem
I can understand why Harry and Meghan
want to leave the royal fold
to get away from media abuse
to get away from public scrutiny
People want a life, children want freedom
yet royalty also wants respect
fighting for the just cause of overcoming poverty,
Improving the world's environment
could be used to gain respect for royalty
and the leaders of the world
protestors worldwide are behind a push
to overcome environment problems
linking people together
getting them to become investors
in world environmental concepts
would see the world come together
protestors and leaders
fighting for the same cause
building respect for both groups,
respect for the world's leaders
and environmental protestors
building jobs worldwide could
gain respect for the world's leaders
worldwide respect for all the world countries
Might see a world pathway
that leads to peace
third world countries watch on
as American children run riot
as American prisons and streets
run riot with drugs, crime, and abuse
respect is lost and people rise
believing they can do better
The worlds wars are created
through conflicting needs
conflicting beliefs
people believing they know better
but people follow leaders
they can respect
If we as a world can build leaders respect
maybe they can lead us to peace

Bernard Barclay Poem
I sat with a friend,
discussing overpopulation,
"the worlds not overpopulated"
he stated
"Look around you,
there is still, a lot more land,
there are still places,
with very few people"
Granted that's true,
there are still places with few people
yet the fish have become
depleted from the sea
We cut down fifty eight football fields
of raintree forest, every day,
the seas are depleted,
because people need to eat,
We cut down the rain forest
because people need furniture,
there are only three hundred
Siberian tigers left in the world,
Other animals have a right to life
three, tiger species became extinct
in the twentieth century,
the ozone layer is becoming depleted
because of the carbon
that we, as a race create.
granted cows have more stomachs
cows give off more methane gas,
Yet we are by far
are the biggest creator of carbon pollution,
cars, cigarettes and human gas,
go into creating air pollution,
four and a half new babies
are born every second,
yes people have a right
to have a family,
Yet what do you want,
their future to hold,
We depend on nature
but now, nature also depends on us,
The north and south pole
are melting,
fresh water going into the ocean,
could change the chemical balance
Of the sea,
perhaps stopping the Mediterranean rift,
perhaps changing heat transfer,
perhaps changing nature,
we depend on this planet
for our survival,
yet this planet also
depends on us,
We have a brain,
We have the ability,
to overcome these problems,
Together we can achieve the impossible,
United we stand divided we fall
yet if we work against each other
we achieve nothing, using investment,
we can overcome our problems,
We can make cars that run on electricity,
We can decide, to have less children,
Together we can do the impossible,
We have already sent people into space
Yet if we spend our time fighting,
against each idea, we get nowhere,
To overcome a problem
first you must agree you have a problem
Then create a solution, that solves the problem,
Increasing tax and destroying lives does not work
investing together creating change is a solution,
We are the most intelligent animal on the planet

Bernard Barclay Poem
Unlike Martin Luther King Junior
I am not a black man
but I also have a dream
I also dream about equality
the love of a world
that care's, for all of it's people
I also am a Christian in a world
that needs to find love
All men should stand up
to speak against inequality
to speak against injustice
to pass the hand of friendship
poverty holds suffering
and transgression in it's arms
driving the world into anger
and pain, our children onto drugs
Stand tall and become a man
refuse to waste your lives with guns
refuse to waste your lives on violence
education holds the path to success
A friend of mine that is dark skinned
said all of her friends want the office jobs
yet wealth and success
come on the back bone of hard work
If a man takes a job as a cleaner
the wage still provides the money
to improve your education
knowledge is power the road to success
The colour of your skin does not stop you
Eddy Murphy, Oprah Winfrey, Obama
and thousands more have found success
doctors nurses business men
Poverty has your children
turning to drugs
anger has them turning to violence
violence has them going to prison
I meet a man at the train station
who said I hate the blacks
I asked him why and he said
six of them held a knife to me
and demanded money
When you pick up a gun
or attack a man with a knife
you encourage discrimination
when you respect people
and earn a career
you encourage the world
to have respect for you

Bernard Barclay Poem
You hear about
the Black slave trade
but you never hear about
the white slave trade
Vikings stole
the Irish and scottish
selling them
for the white slave trade
Even today
the female slave trade
continues in all cultures
it should not be
about colour
It should be about
man's inhumanity to man
As a world
we should stand
against abuse
teach your children
to hate
the colour of a mans skin
you teach your children
to abuse people
teach your children
to hate abuse
you create a world
that loves peace
Anger and hatred
build violence
yet there has already been
too much violence
ninety five million
American Indians
Killed and abused
by the spanish
conquistadors
Ten millions
africans killed
to line the pockets
of king Leopold the second
Millions of Jewish people
killed in the second world war
Man's inhumanity to man
every day
we prove that we can hate
yet
creating more violence
is not the answer
and only leads
to the cycle of war.

Bernard Barclay Poem
Mark Scott-Crossley
and Simon Mathebula
Tied up Nelson Chisale
and beat him with machetes
dumping him in
with white lions
Africa Learned
to hate the Whites
Yet this is only
one white farmer
should we hate
all the people
for the act of one man
to easily do we attack
the colour of a mans skin
do the crime do the time
but don't blame others
for the act of another man
you ask that we should apologise
for the acts of our ancestors
I ask you why?
why; should I apologise
for the act of my great grandfather,
I did not, do what he did,
I am not responsible, for his crimes,
should you apologise,
for the acts of your Great grandfather,
perhaps he was a cannibal,
perhaps in the past,
he ate somebody's ancestor,
yet, do we ask you,
to apologise for him
so why do you ask us,
to apologise,
for the acts of our ancestors,
Hate the man who did the crime,
not the colour of his skin,
Black people,
have also been responsible for evil,
murder and rape, happen in all cultures,
You don't expect us to hate you,
for the act of your brothers,
so why should you hate us,
for the acts of other whites,
blame the person,
that did the crime,
not the colour,
of a man's skin,
Every day,
I get up and try
to help people,
try to teach others,
That happiness is created
with a sense of humour,
learn to joke have fun with people,
and the world becomes a happier place.
Yet even a sense of humour
can become twisted
people laugh at the expense
of someone else
learn to laugh with people
learn to joke in away
that builds happiness
without hurting others
To hate all Americans is racism
To Hate all Jew's is racism
To hate all Africans is racism
all cultures have good and bad people
