It Wasn'T Always Like This

Time moves and relations passes,
Passes by missing out on you,
Never knew a young man's heart could be so heavy in his youth,
Wouldn't expect the heaviness on my heart would be caused by you,
Lessons learned but I never meant to burn bridges,
Bridges that could've led me back to you,
Damn,
Girl I played my cards with you like I just renigged in spades,
Why did I choose to misbehave and cause you to hate me,
In actuality I could cry out for you until tears out my body were no more,
We barely knew each other but I felt a connection,
A connection that drove deeper than any long erection,
It didn't matter where I went as long as you were in my direction,
Disappointing you and myself,
Now I see that self satisfaction is a form of good wealth,
Damn,
You moved on long ago and I thought so did I,
But no matter who I was with it meant nothing unless I could once again get lost in your eyes,
You never gave me a reason to pursue,
If anything you gave me reasons to subdue,
All the things I did that you liked,
And all the things I did that you didn't,
Shows which one I did more seeing how you not with me,
It's sad now that I must say,
That everyday I look in the mirror after I wake,
And have to know that you were my potential good thing that I let slip Away....
