Happiness

What is happiness?
Just sadness a little less.
Or maybe a chance,
To party n dance.

As a matter of fact,
Happiness is abstract.
Today's sorrow
Can make you smile tomorrow.

Life is meant to smile,
Leave aside your worries for a while.
Let the colours fly,
Never may a soul cry.

To be happy is in your hand,
Don't wait for a reason grand.
Just look around you,
Contented are very few.

Happiness needs no occasion,
Its a game of positive vision.
It can change your life forever,
And let you fall never.

I, myself smile a lot
I maybe happy, maybe not.
It doesn't lessen your pain,
But, it does help you gain.

Its a contagious disease,
Let the virus release.
Be the reason, for a while,
Of someone's precious smile.

You might have a frowning brow,
But don't let your smile go.
Its one thing you can't buy,
And still spread to every guy.

Hope you get the message behind,
Don't be the fox that whined.
All I wish to impart,
Keep smiling till the world breaks apart.

"Smile an everlasting smile, A smile can bring you near to me..."

Heart Rendering

(I'm into a little bit of social service because of which I got a chance to visit a psychiatric center yesterday.  This poem is my personal experience)

Walking into the campus, I could feel the difference
Some strange but true smiles came for my welcome
Inspite of the smiles on their faces
I could feel their pain
Those smiles were the most genuine ones I had ever seen
No manipulation and no diplomacy
Just a crystal clear emotion.

After a few formalities, I went for a stroll
The very first view of the wards made me stop
I stopped at the door itself
To thank God for giving me a chance to do something for them
Someone came close to me and said-
"Have you come to meet me?
Are you my grand daughter? "

Before I could answer, he hugged me tight
Bestowed on me all the blessings
Then stepped in the nurse
Asking him to leave me...
Telling him that I was not his family
He pushed me away
With that unexplainable expression on his face

And I did nothing but stare at him
With tears in my eyes, somehow controlling myself
I held his hand and told him-
"I'm not your grand daughter,
But I have come to meet all of you,
I want to become your friend,
Will you be my friend? "

After a few reluctant looks
And some casual talks
Within some 10 minutes
We had become the best of friends.
Their kiddish games, their silly jokes
Their sad stories, their tears
Were all mine now.

Playing with them for sometime,
Talking to them, smiling with them
And most importantly hiding my tears
The hours flew by unnoticed
It was time for me to leave
With a heavy heart I bid them goodbye
And there was a shower of blessings again...

As I was moving towards the exit
Thoughts flowed through my mind-
What was their mistake?
Why do people illtreat them?
Can't we give them a happy environment?
Why don't we care for them?
How do we expect them to live?

Another thing that I felt was gratitude
Gratitude for the family members of such people
Their struggle is way beyond what we can imagine
They deserve a special applaud
Great are those, who don't let humanity die
They are true inspirations
And God's most loved children.

This poem is a humble request
A request for all
Please don't leave such people in a mess
All they need is your love and care
If you can't keep them properly
Contact some people who can help them
But don't kill them while they are still alive....

Life and Rain

The weather makes me smile ,
The rain brings me back to life .
The breezy air fills me with desire ,
To be the raindrops and wash away tears .

The pitter -patter of the rain ,
The singing of the koyal behind ,
The lushing green leaves of the trees ,
All are so pleasing to the senses .

The lightening is what I fear ,
Just like a child so immature .
Its like a phobia ,
That doesn't let me sleep or think.

The rains are good ,
But not the thunder .
Its just like life ,
Which has success and failure.

Then comes the Rainbow ,
From behind the clouds.
Clearing the mind ,
Of all the doubts .

We must not forget,
Joys and sorrows are a part of life.
Just as it takes,
Both Sunshine and rain to make a rainbow.

Keep smiling :- )

A Busy Day

The ringing of the morning alarm,
Ends the nightly calm.
The bright rising sun,
Marks the beginning of the run.

The days starts with a frown,
Its time to work and drown.
Getting ready in a hurry,
On the mind so many worry.

The ticking of the clock,
Building pressure block by block.
Dealing with the traffic,
All seems to be so tragic.

Reaching the destination,
Working on presentation.
Aiming on the targets,
Meals one forgets.

After the tiring day,
Nothing goes the proper way.
All that can set things right,
Is a smile so bright.

As the evening dawns,
Even the brain yawns.
Its time to take rest,
To give tomorrow our best,

Such is our life
Its useless to lie.
All we need is a moment,
A moment to foment.

Give it a thought,
Its high-time you fought.
Get up for your dreams,
Rewards are the creams.

Live life your style,
Jump over the stile.
Run towards your goals,
The worries will turn into moles.

Just give it a try,
Practice to fly.
There are no bars,
Go, reach for the stars.

Getting Started

Dreaming with open eyes
I think about myself
Who am I ?
Where do I belong?
Is that a question everyone asks
Or is it just me who has this doubt...

Lots of queries fly through my mind
Why this and why not that?
What if I do this forever long?
Difficult it is to make a choice
Life seems to be so complicated
I wish I had an angel for all decisions

At times there seems no way out
Only continuous unending work
That goes on day in and day out
Nothing soothes the mind
Some pressure always has its design
What does it lead to somebody lemme know....

All of it is so messed up
What destiny holds is unknown
But still I'm struggling
Struggling to achieve my dreams
Inpite of all the pains
Working for a passion is bliss

I think this is what is getting started
I am GETTING STARTED.
Hope that you too get started soon!!

Fly...fly...fly...
Fly like a free bird...
High...high...high...
High up in the sky...

Years Later

Years later I decided to pay a visit
To the old dilapidated house
The house which was once a home
A place that defined happiness and bliss

The roads had changed
It was difficult to recollect
Somehow I managed to reach the lane
To my surprise, nothing had changed there

I completely forgot myself
And turned into that girl of 12 again
Memories flashed in as a lightening
And my tears filled eyes just gazed around

The same broken boundary,
The pruned hedge was now a mini jungle
The windows were covered with webs
The floor covered in dust

I just touched the wall
The same one where I scribbled all day long
Was now all chapped
But it still smelled of crayons

The rooms seemed to talk to me
Talking about the long forgotten days
Of the good times spent there
And each sobbing night I lay awake

I wish that had not happened
I wish the house didn't remind me of the days
The days I spent with dad
The only times I spent with him

On reaching the courtyard
I could imagine the doomsday
I imagined dad's corpse as it was
Ready for the last ceremonies

That was the last week we spent there
Leaving behind those 12 years we walked away
For we couldn't stay there anymore
And now I was here, reliving those memories
Again YEARS LATER....

Change

Simple it may be, yet complicated to define.
Easy to preach, but difficult to imply.
A focused mind, a smiling face,
A friend by your side, will change the phase.
Strength is inside, motivation is the cause.
Life might turn upside down, but it never takes a pause.

Welcome with open arms, the times to come.
Don't do things 'coz they have to be done.
Look for a target, work for a goal.
Problems will turn themselves into a mole.
Whatever happens happens for good.
Remember those painful marks of childhood.

Forget the past and move on.
Those moments, those days have gone.
People change, that's their say,
You be the same, they'll learn that way.
Losers are not who leave others behind.
But winners are who still never cried.

Be like the fresh leaf,
Which might fall in a storm,
But still hangs on to life,
Flowing with the waters warm.

Love is still alive,
It will be till the day I die.
Change might change your reason to live,
But it doesn't change the meaning of life.

Reasons behind a change can be unknown,
But the outcome lies in your hands own.

Keep smiling :-)

Fake Is True

Look around yourself
The world is fake
Each worries about their own morsel
Fake are the promises they make

Fake are the smiles
Fake is the care
Fake is the  'together we'll go miles'
Fake is the  'world is not so fair'

Emotions are fake
Trust is fake
Promises are fake
Relationships are fake

Masked are faces
Hiding the facts
Leaving no traces
Using all tacts

Happy are those
Who smile at all
Its good that they chose
To abide by God's call

The secrets are deadly
The love is risky
The friends are few
The enemies somehow grew

All is done for a reason
I have to say-beware
Compromise is the season
But don't you your dream spare

In today's world,
The trend is new
Its not the word
Its the fake...that's true.

The Winter Night

I finished clearing the mess
And walked towards the bed
Sleep on my mind was less
Thoughts were awake in my head

Putting sleep aside
To dream with open eyes
I reached my balcony wide
Hoping that the breeze can make me wise

It was terribly cold,
The wind made my mind sway
It brought back memories old
The party night and gloomy day

Great were those times
With the 'friends for life'
Those songs and those chimes
That angry neighbor's wife

Its all gone now
Leaving behind just tears
To get it back, how
After so many years?

A dog barked
Bringing me back in the present
'Twas late, I marked
Straight to bed I went

Letting go of the dream
Worried about tomorrow's work
I let the memories scream
And destiny on its face, had a smirk....

Writing Anonymously

That frankness is rare,
It goes away with a name.
I wish to write as a soul,
And not a body with the worldly load.

The energy inside me must shine out,
Unaffected by the crowd.
Presentation of myself as I am,
Without the influence of anyone.

Strange are the ways
Strange are the reasons
For which the society moulds us.
Actions are expected without reason.

I am a heart
I am a soul
I am not a body
I am not a name

Anonymous is what I wish to be
Just like a cool breeze
Influencing the lives I touch,
Spreading the message of love.

For my trustworthiness,
Look into my eyes.
For a positive thought,
Just see me smile.

I'll be a feeling,
I'll be an emotion
For all I know,
For all I care.
